Turning Our Lives Over
Mark 11:12-25
God's people haven't always stayed in tune with God's purposes for their lives.  When we step out of bounds, it is Jesus who calls us out, leads us back to where we need to be, and sends us out again, in a new direction, on a new mission.

    Goodness Unleashed
    Scripture:  Mark 10:32-45
Our culture plays the game of life by its own set of rules.  But one of the realities we need to always keep in mind is that as Christians, Jesus is always changing the rules for how life needs to be lived... What this means is that, if we are going to be Christ followers, we need to learn the game Jesus teaches us, so that we can play by his rules.

    The Offer of Wholeness
    Scripture:  Mark 10:17-31
Many professing Christians believe that forgiveness of sins is the whole of salvation. Listening to Jesus, learning from Jesus, following and obeying Jesus is just not essential to their faith.  And so, after they believe, they go right back to doing what they were doing before - expressing the same attitudes and actions, participating in the same activities, embracing the same feelings and so on.  It is Jesus who calls us out of this heresy, and lays before us the true path of discipleship.

    No Ifs
    Scripture: Mark 9:14-29
We all have limitations. Some of them we are born with, others emerge in our lives as a result of difficult circumstances, illness or poor choices. We all have areas where we simply don't excel. The good news is that Jesus teaches us how we can flourish, in spite of our weak condition.

    Renewed Hearts
    Scripture: Mark 7:14-23
Just as a medical condition can be misdiagnosed, so too we can be misguided spiritually. Jesus not only clearly explains the problem that affects every human being, he also offers us a cure, and hope for renewal.

    Too Much to Take
    Scripture: Mark 4:35-41
There is a big difference between expressing raw power and having authority. Anyone can attempt to throw their power around. Those obsessed with control and bullies do it all the time. But if you have authority, you have been given the right to express your power to influence and bring about a desired outcome. Jesus possesses both authority and power, and because of this, he can be trusted for all things.

    Look and Listen
    Scripture: Mark 4:1-9
Throughout the gospels, we continually find Jesus revealing secrets about himself adn the life of faith. It's as if he keeps saying, "I am going to let you in on something special, now, and show you how you can experience the kingdom of heaven." The Parable of the Sower is one of those lessons that discloses to us that way in which we need to receive Jesus' teachings into our lives. If we follow Jesus' instructions, our lives will be filled with spiritual riches.

    The Arrival of Hope
    Scripture: Mark 1:14-20
A Christian has a relationship with Christ, but that relationship can be weak or strong, or somewhere in between. The question we all face is this - How far am I willing to go with Christ? The farther we are willing to venture with him, the more of his life fills our lives.

Where Are You Going in Life?
    Scripture: Proverbs 12:28; 11:19
How are you living life? Are you just thinking about your life, or listening to how others are living their lives, or attempting to self-construct a life that is happy, painless, comfortable, and safe? Real life is more than just a beating heart. It is receiving the vitality of God into our lives. The more we seek Christ and let him spread his life over ours, the more full of real life we become. The Proverbs show us how we can do this.
