A New Ethic
Matthew 21:1-11 and 2 Peter 1:3-11  There are many occasions in our lives when we look at our circumstances and declare, "Wow! That is not what I thought would happen." When we seek God on our terms, or expect situations to turn out a certain way, we find ourselves frustrated and perplexed. But the question we should be asking is not, "What's wrong with you God?" but rather, "What's wrong with me?" ... When Jesus becomes our King, our Christian lives settle into a good place."12-17-2017 1".

Amos 5:1-5  There are qualities of Jesus we are probably familiar with, but there are also those that are less familiar to us.  Advent is a time to take a close look at Jesus, and discover the many roles he fulfills in our lives.  We know and appreciate Jesus as the Lamb, but how do we respond to Jesus as the Lion?..."12-10-2017 1".

Acts 19:1-10  We all encounter important events in the Christian life.  These experiences or realizations enable us to gain traction and move forward following Jesus.  The writer of Acts pulls together in one passage three key dimensions of faith we need to continue to sharpen our focus on, for they direct us into a life of eternal significance."11-26-17 1".

    Persecuted for Godliness
2 Timothy 3  Persecution is a normal occurrence for godly Christians everywhere. In fact, Paul goes so far as to guarantee that every Christian who seeks to live a godly life will be persecuted. But if persecution is a normal occurrence for believers, why do we in America not hear of it, or experience it, more often? The truth is, Christians often feel ill-prepared for persecution, and we don't always take a bold stand for truth when we ought. But we need not fear - God has provided the means for every serious Christian to endure any persecution."11-19-2017 1".

Esther 9:20-32  We sometimes wonder, as we walk the rugged terrain of this life, what' the supply of help that is available to make the journey? God's answer is always a single-word - Adequate! And ultimately, he will preserve us for the priceless inheritance he died to give us."11-12-2017 1".

    Unlimited Power
Esther 9:1-19  Although we experience events and circumstances that seem unexplainable, nothing that happens is outside the reach of God's providence. Through the normal and ordinary course of daily living, God is achieving his divine purposes for our lives."11-5-2017 1".

    The Path to Victory
Esther 8:1-17  We live in a world that is charmed by technology and the superiority it can place in our hands. The modern person is one we believe who is superbly in control, precisely trained and seeks to dominate through power and ability. We have elevated ourselves to a plain where God has no place in our lives. Yet, the truth of the matter is that we are still in desperate need of God's intervention, and we must receive his remedy if we are to live."10-29-17 1".

    Self-Deception
Esther 7:1-10   God Had endowed us with a marvelous capacity to create.  But this ability can be used in positive or negative ways.  God calls us to use our creativity to promote and serve his purposes, not our own."10-22-17 1".

    Beneath the Surface
Esther 6:1-14   Throughout our coming and going, through every circumstance and challenge we face, there is a power at work which leads us into God's goodness.  The question becomes, will we live towards God by faith, and move into alignment with his purposes, or turn to self-reliance, and live blindly by fate? "10-15-17 1".

    Enemies Lurking
Esther 5:1-14   The reality is that there are always enemy forces at work.  Sometimes we see what they are doing, and other times we don't.  But realizing their presence should compel us to be alert and reassess our priorities.  Enemies of God force a decision.  We can either act against the darkness or be drawn into its corruption."10-8-17 1".
