A Place to Begin
Scripture: 1:1-7
We live today, in what has been called the information age. Each one of us is bombarded daily with a tsunami of information that is staggering. But very little of what we encounter teaches us how to become skillful at living life well. To do that, we need wisdom, which the book of Proverbs provides for us. The profound insights in this collection of teachings will transform us into beautiful people, if we allow these instructions to be absorbed into our lives.

    Never Forgotten
There are many last words, spoken by famous people before they died. Some are quirky, others are humorous. And some are profound and linger in our minds for a long time. Peter wasn't dying, but there was a sense of urgency to the last words he shared in his letter to his friends who were scattered throughout the province of Asia. A New Curriculum to Follow
    Scripture: 1 Peter 4:3-11
If we try to build a life upon our own impulses and insights, we will realize, at some point, that we are not what we hoped we could be. Better to submerge ourselves in following a Christ-like curriculum, where the life we construct is from above.

    Learning to Think Like Jesus
    Scripture: 1 Peter 3:18-4:2
Learning new skills and behaviors can be a difficult project, especially when what we are trying to acquire is unfamiliar to us. Jesus calls us to the task of learning to think and live like him. It is only as we ask him for guidance, and meditate on his teachings and actions, that we can become conscious of his way of living.
